Shamanism

By David Colin Healy

My Chinese birth sign is wood snake. A snake I can understand, I've had my moments, but wood? I guess in a metaphorical sort of way, I'm solid and steadfast, but I always saw myself as malleable and able to adapt to adversity. That's the universe for you; tricking you into seeing your true-self while you participate in some faulty tunnel vision. We find ourselves following our daily routine, coping with the tools we gather from our past, until something unexpected happens, altering our perception of whatever circumstances we had encountered. We then project our shadow onto it to try to make sense of the myriad of new information modules presented to us, repressing what society deems unacceptable.

The trickster comes in, either personally or collectively, unforeseen. It's always some subjective experience that makes us feel foolish, but after integrating it we find valuable wisdom. Like the Greek god Hermes, the archetype of the trickster brings us hidden truths about ourselves that we happen to need during a particular situation. This motif is most prevalent in our ancient mythologies where the hero is tricked into something in order to change things. Oedipus was tricked into believing he was a true king only to be struck down by the knowledge of his hubris.

Esoterica

By Jonathan McGregor Bethel and David Colin Healy

The divine mysteries of our universe reveal themselves to us as a pure and solitary gnosis, yet each culture and religion throughout the world has a divergent way of describing and approaching this divinity; this god shines through us as we project our various beliefs onto our traditional faiths that the patriarchy has passed down to us. Each religion's belief system holds certain common truths that are shrouded from most followers. Notwithstanding, they are realized by the initiates that seek enlightenment and follow the initiatory path found within every culture. It is our intention to disseminate information about these different esoteric schools of the world's great religions in a series of articles that will compare and contrast the inner mysteries of these systems, and we will then distill this timeless truth showing how it can be applied to bring one closer to illumination.

All of the various faiths throughout the world contain an outer and inner circle of teachings. The outer ring is exoteric and contains only the moral codes of conduct, and it maintains a strict literalism to a holy book; the inner ring is the secret, esoteric teachings of each religion, which directs initiates into the sacred gnosis and how to awaken the divine within. The outer ring is the orthodoxy and literalism presented to the faithful as a tool for them to abate their fears of death, and it only contains half-truths of the true inner mysteries, a watered down elixir for the masses. The essence of truth is the providence of the inner ring, and differing traditions come together as one unified mystery tradition, the perennial wisdom.

Freemasonry

By Jonathan McGregor Bethel & David Colin Healy

An anomalous finding in the hills of Minnesota by a farmer in 1898, the Kensington Stone, suggests that Nordic voyagers, notably the Knights Templar, visited our land as far back as the 14th century. The probable factual evidence of this stone throws the continuity of American history into complete suspicion. It could very well be that the elevated ideology that makes our nation great found its way into the collective-psyche long before than what is presumed. The Kensington Stone was discovered face down tangled in the roots of a Poplar tree by Olaf Ohman in 1898. It is a grey stone measuring 13x16x6, weighing 200 pounds and is inscribed with rare runes that have been verified to be 14th century. These runes seem to tell the tale of the death of 10 men. However, some researchers of the stone seem to think that the inscribed runic story may hold some key to the reason for the stone's introduction into this region of the world. Some linguistic specialists have voiced their opposition to the stone's claimed authenticity, but experts in many diverse fields have arrived at the conclusion that the stone is real.

Interestingly, one of the runes used in the stone is so rare that linguistic experts have stated that the use of it shows the stone to be a complete fraud. Later, however, it was discovered that this rune is identical to a rune used in the 14th century by the Knights Templar. This is fairly compelling evidence to suggest that the Knights Templar had a strong influence on the prevailing mindset that eventually became the United States of America. Despite this fact, this corollary in runic research is far from conclusive evidence that the knights were here; notwithstanding, the date mentioned in the STONE is 1362 and is only 50 years after the horrible Friday the 13th, 1314, when King Phillip the Fair and Pope Clemente issued an arrest for the Knights Templar. Therefore, the Knights would have had every reason for wanting to journey to a new land to escape persecution.

Tree of Life

By David Colin Healy

Nothing…the word evokes a myriad of abstract images. But even trying to grasp its essence by conceptualization will fail its true meaning. When one thinks of nothing one automatically assigns some definition or value to it, but doing so only makes it into something. Nothing, or no-thing, is the essence beyond the concept; it’s some thing unknowable and ineffable. The initiates who study the Kabbalah call this no-thingness Ain. Ain is the great unmanifest, the essence of divine potential that is the Godhead. Ain is also Ain Sof, the infinite and inexhaustible eternalness of the Godhead. The Godhead fills the void with its light, this is called Ain Sof Or, or the divine fullness of the emptiness. Ain Sof Or is the creative aspect of the Godhead. Its Omnificent nature initializes the swirling eddies that become what we perceive as reality. The Ains together form the Godhead that is both unavailable to us but existing with us simultaneously. We exist in both no-thingness of potential and the manifestness of creation. In the Kabbalahistic tradition the face of God is represented in profile as Keter; that is to show that there is a revealed aspect to God and one where God’s face is occluded. It reminds me of Crowley’s equation in the Book of the Law where he says to solve one half of the equation and leave the other half for another. In other words, even though one can study the different aspects of God that are revealed to us there will always be a part that is hidden.

A vortex within the Ain emits Keter or Kether depending on which discipline one wants to study. I prefer the Gnostic Kabbalah. Keter is the first crystallization of something. Its crown sits upon the head of the middle pillar of equilibrium in the supernal triangle. Keter is enveloped in Ain, but is experienced through the emanations of the remaining ten Sefirot. Through Keter, nothingness creates a projection of potential possibility that we as vessels experience as reality. As Alan Watts would say, we are the universe examining itself. Nothingness is then the canvas where we project our geometric patterns that dwell deep within the void, emanating from Keter in the depths of the unconscious, down through the realm of the archetypes into the world of the illusionary dance of Maya.

When we walk through the world and look around ourselves, we see turmoil surrounding us in many guises: disease, starvation, poverty, illiteracy, and so many others. Like the Buddha upon learning of sickness, old age, and death, we each hold the desire to rid the world of these travesties. Is there any one act above all others that will help bring aid and relief to this seemingly unending suffering? The kabbalistic mystics of the past utilized a philosophy of rectifying the world to its intended glory, bringing aid and relief to this state of disarray and inadequacy; they called this notion "Tikkun Olam," literally meaning "repairing the world."

Some may ask why the world must be repaired when it is made of the archetypal perfection of god. This is an age old dilemma that has captured the minds of many people who have contemplated its facets, for it is obvious to any thinking individual that although that world contains many beautiful and divine creations, it also contains many instances and things that are grotesque and inharmonious, like death, violence, hatred and disease. It is to this aspect of creation that Tikkun Olam is addressed.

Gnosticism

As published in Oracle 20/20 magazine

by Jonathan McGregor Bethel

First of all, let me say, this article is not intended to condemn modern Christianity at all or evoke the ire of any of its participants. However, it is my belief modern Christianity suffers, like all old schools of thought, from the accumulation of error, past misinterpretation, and the promulgation of dogma. We think the orthodox theology we have today is the exact theology that Jesus Christ, Yeshua Christos, intended. This is a mistake in my view! A magnificent find in 1947 brought to light the Gnosticism that was being taught in all secret inner orders of the Western esoteric tradition, the finding of the Nag Hammadi Library. For me, Gnosticism has brought me back to a religion that I thought was wrong and had done many wrongs to many primitive peoples.

In my Gnostic research, it became evident that many of the things typical Christians take for granted may have never occurred in the way it is represented. At the council of Nicea, under the “pagan” emperor Constantine, many of the true gospels where thrown out, for they removed much of the power of the Roman Church over the people.

This is an article I wrote for JJ Haper's new book, "Science of the Soul"

by Jonathan McGregor Bethel

It must be stated at the outset of this article that the expectation in 2012 of any singular event could very well lead to complete disappointment. None of us know for certain what will happen in the years to come, especially the specific date of 12-21-2012, as the future is yet to occur. I try to approach this great mystery of 2012 with an open yet discriminating mind, open to possible scenarios yet discriminating and requiring evidence. That being said, it is obvious that right now is a time of radical transformation, and society is subconsciously gearing up for a “Shift of the Ages,” a moment when the Zeitgeist, the spirit of our time, shifts to a higher pattern. Many are coming forward to proclaim "The End of the World," and they point to the Maya themselves as stating the end is coming. But the fact remains that the Maya encoded the ending of one 13baktun calendar cycle and a new beginning, what they called “Creation Day.” This is not the “End of the World” being solicited in the main stream media, a guarantee that doom, tumultuous changes, and a turmoil ridden future lies ahead; they are using the tried and true application of fear to make money, and it is very reasonable that this fear is in place, for events could be very dire, yet we have to approach this moment in history with the poise and watchfulness of the spiritual warrior.

Although mankind has traversed the evolutionary gap between the savage rain forest and the modern civilized city, it now sits in a very alarming situation; it now faces a bifurcation point in the evolutionary path it has trod thus far. This unavoidable fork in the road will lead us either down the path of destruction and decimation, or we will be impelled down the evolutionary channels toward enlightenment and liberation, freeing ourselves from the entropic grip of materiality and the thralldom of our everyday world. This is a very novel predicament for humanity, one it has never seen before, a moment a planet brings forth only once in its’ lifetime. This razor's edge that we are teetering on is fast becoming a slippery slope, and the global operational systems are careening out of control. On the one hand, we have reached a monumental moment in which all indicators point to the fact that we are approaching a quantum leap in our evolutionary trek, a rapturous instant in which our species' evolution shifts to a higher, unimaginable level of functionality; however, on the other hand, the global situation looks very grim, and certain actualities could create a situation where our existential being is subjected to harsh realities, realities that are the consequence of what we started long ago in history. This situation is building up more and more pressure and is working its' way toward a breaking point. Because of humanity's selfish and disharmonious behavior, we have created a situation that looks fairly dire and dreadful for our species, yet the contradictory is also true; never before has the human race been so perfectly poised so as to initiate a whole series of evolutionary steps that could precede a Utopian civilization.

Reality Films Announces Today the Release of a New Blockbuster DVD:

Science of Soul: The End-Time Solar Cycle of Chaos in 2012 A.D.

by Dr. John Jay Harper (See www.johnjayharper.com)
Author of the bestseller Tranceformers: Shamans of the 21st Century
Reality Press Editor-in-Chief, John Jay Harper, has created a complete visionary integration of physics and metaphysics, a Science of Soul, that blends music and mind-blowing graphics with a finely-crafted script filled-to-the-brim with life-changing facts in a highly-entertaining format.

Critics say this DVD offers viewers the "lost key" to the secrets of the ages that was only briefly introduced in What the Bleep Do We Know!? and The Secret. Specifically, the "magic of magnetism" is linked to the geometry of sacred site structures on Earth with our Sun’s solar flare cycles and the opening of our third eye.
In no uncertain terms, the Egyptians and Mayans revealed to us in architecture, art, story, and symbolic temple rites the working of the life force energy that is about to also turn our world upside down and inside out.

To the point: A galactic core explosion is scheduled for December 21st, 2012 that will ripple its serpentine power currents through our Sun, planet, then us, and this like no other nuclear force known to mankind will impact climate, civilization, and consciousness in cataclysmic yet miraculous ways simultaneously.

“Science of Soul unlocks the truth of why Gnostics, Freemasons, Knights Templar, Shamans, Serpents, and Sun Gods kept the forbidden knowledge of the End-Time Solar Cycle of Chaos in 2012 A.D. to themselves: They did not want others to survive the cataclysm in order to “see as gods!”

The Number 23 - 2/23/2007

by Jonathan McGregor Bethel

www.jonathanbethel.com/

The number 23 has some very curious properties, properties that cause one to step back and say, “hmmm…isn't that strange,” thereby giving a glimpse into the synchronized structure of time and materiality. The temporal anomaly of this synchronistic 23 has been the subject of several notable authors, and it has undoubtedly shown its' realistic nature in my life going back to when I was 23. The questions that remains in my mind is…does this number have any real significance, or is it that reality is so malleable that it is aligning itself to my and a group of people's beliefs, much like the Law of Attraction of “The Secret” espouses? As you will see this number is an immense synchronicity in my own life, and it has definitely given me moments of pause and wonder. The creative minds of hollywood have now discovered this strange occurrence and have now made a blockbuster movie. The Director Joel Schumacher created the movie, “The Number 23,” staring Jim Carrey and Virginia Madsen. And although I have not yet seen the movie, I think their take on the 23 phenomena is that it is a bad thing. I will see it later today, 2-23, the day I was due to be born, precisely, Feb. 23. But nonetheless, I will leave it to you to give its' nature a quality. It has been both bad and good in my life.

Ancient Texts

source: http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/this_britain/article2281408.ece

By Marie Woolf
Published: 18 February 2007

The rarest and most elaborate collection of religious manuscripts in the world, including one of the earliest Korans and a Torah from a lost community of Chinese Jews, is to be displayed at the British Library in a unique exhibition on the great religions.

Sacred texts from Christianity, Judaism and Islam are to be displayed side by side in an exhibition showing what the three great faiths have in common.

The exhibition includes one of the earliest surviving Korans, completed in the Arabian peninsula 160 years after the death of the Prophet Mohamed, and an elaborate book of fatwas.

Blasphemous and esoteric documents will also be on show. A 6th-century Christian text, suppressed by the church because it omits the genealogy of Christ, will be displayed, along with a Jewish manuscript containing an illustration of God's face - forbidden in Jewish tradition.

Law of Attraction

by Malena Gamboa & Jonathan McGregor Bethel

Since the turn of the Millennium, it has become grossly apparent that higher awareness is unfolding among mankind, and we are becoming cognizant of an innate power that shapes the experiences we encounter. In fact, it is safe to say that many have transcended beyond a mere awareness of this power, and they are fast becoming master reality creators. This realization comes at the heels of a movement propelled by the world wide web and other advanced forms of media, specifically “Spiritual Cinema” with productions like “The Secret” and “What the Bleep Do We Know.” “The Secret” is especially conducive for an awakening of this gnosis; it seems to resonate profoundly, as if some divine key within man is awakening an inner knowing.

The Law of Attraction works by the notion that what we give thought to is “attracted” to us and begins to manifest in the material universe. The more passionate we feel when thinking those thoughts then the more we are actualizing them in the physical world. Therefore, our thoughts in moments of utter annoyance, absolute despair, or complete exhilaration all have a major impact on what we pull into our experience. How we feel on a momentary basis in conjunction with the thoughts we are having determines what gravitates into reality. Therefore, it becomes obvious why it is crucial to keep a positive mental attitude, thereby attracting the things most desired and avoiding what we most dislike. People are using this Law in a very successful way, and with specific techniques they are becoming effective creators and manifesting some astonishing feats.

Gnosticism

from http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropolis/1896/jarkon.html

When writing about Gnosticism it is very difficult to present an objective view of this system of belief or its participants. The reason for this is that there are very few exhibits of first hand copies of their writings. These writings were burned by the orthodox Christians from the first century onward. Gnosticism was considered heretical and Gnostics heretics. So, until the find of Nag Hammadi in 1945 little was known of Gnosticism and the Gnostics except from the writings of their adversaries.

One of the main things which separated the Gnostics from orthodox Christians was the mysticism of their beliefs. It began with their views of God and creation. They viewed the One which they called the true God as having a feminine part which was the Spirit. In accord, they also held that Jesus came from God and the Spirit to form the Trinity.

In the Gnostic version of creation of the world the Spirit of God is referred to as the Wisdom of God or Sophia who is also a feminine creative force. It seems she wished to give birth to a creature like herself. She did so without the permission of her partner. She was able to do this by the power within her. The fruit of her desire was something imperfect and different from her in appearance. She was ashamed of it, threw it outside of the heavenly realm and hid it in a cloud so none of the Immortals would see it. According to the Gnostics this horrible child became the one they called the Demiurge. Unbeknown to him his mother gave him some of her power which contained the Spirit. The Demiurge thought the power which his mother gave him was his own, and with it he started creating the physical world. In doing this the Gnostics believed the Demiurge entrapped the Spirit in matter. They viewed the Demiurge as being the Christian God, the creator, basing their belief on the statement, \"I am God, and there is no one besides me.\"

Alchemy

from http://www.arkofalchemy.com/articles.html

What is Alchemy? When we think of Alchemy generally what comes to mind is the image of a medieval mad scientist surrounded by flasks filled with vile foaming liquids, trying feverishly to transform lead into gold. There is a record of obscure formulas and processes for transforming the nature of material substances, but the alchemists writings were deliberately obscure in order to hide the true nature of their work from people who would misunderstand and misuse it. The true Alchemy involves the whole being of the Alchemist. The transformation of physical substances echoes a profound transformation of consciousness within the Alchemist himself.

The Emerald Tablet, a Hermetic text said to contain the essence of the alchemic "work" states: "As above, so below. As below, so above." It is this correspondence and interrelatedness of the spiritual and material, the inner and outer, the body and mind, that is at the heart of Alchemy. The "great work" of the Alchemist is to create a synthesis of these apparently opposite values through a process of purification and sublimation which would result in the creation of the Philosophers Stone, the material substance symbolic of the truth beyond duality.
